Founded in 2002 on a historic former barracks area, the Kunsthaus offers 2,500 sq m of space for studios and artist’s workshops plus special gallery rooms for exhibitions. It also has ‘Prinz Carl’, a stylish bistro, and adjoins to ‘Die Kapelle’, a former chapel turned function room with a very exquisite flair.
The Kunsthaus’s aim is to create a platform for the presentation of regional and supraregional art and to meet the space needs of artists of all branches. While the gallery provides artists with facilities needed to stage exhibitions, artists can rent their own studios in the spacious building.
Distributed on two floors, these studios provide working space for illustrators, painters and photographers. The Kunsthaus also has a print and a textile workshop. The range of classes offered by the artists includes nude painting and drawing courses. The gallery is used by internal and external artists for six to seven exhibitions per year.
